pomo picks
Sixpence None the Richer, Sixpence None the Richer (Squint Entertainment): To coin a phrase, this Austin, Texas, outfit displays a richer sound than ever on this self-titled third album. Singer Leigh Nash possesses one of those sweet, graceful voices that get under your skin for good, and Sixpence's material--penned in large part by guitarist-cellist Matt Slocum--has the melodic reach of chamber music and a perfect-pop immediacy. If lead single "Kiss Me" doesn't make you pucker up, you're one cold fish.
